(yes they show up on the map, but only in visual range) it shows mobs, no add on in wow shows mobs. tho he didin't much, I wouldn't let him use my accounts if he used it. And assuming maphack works the same as it did in 1.8, when my nephew used it. In this game, every map in every game is new. The first time you get a resource, it does not show on the add on, the add on only shows where you mined, gathered, or whatever in the past.
The first time you go in a area, it is a blank map. I did, 4 lvl 60s (max lvl), before the expansion, and used the map addons you mentioned. The exact concepts that maphack does for D2X were BUILT IN to the biggest MMORPG in the world created by the same company as D2X.

I understand not wanting programmers(if thier still are any) that work on D2X to have to take out the whole "unidentified area" part of the game, but, thiers a program that does that for you. Therefore, that is why I (and hopefully many others) still do not use Maphack and wont use it. One of the appealling aspects of D2 is the scenery and background itself, which personally I really love to play in and walk through. Also take into account people who not only do not mind extra exploring, but also enjoy it, even if they have been playind D2 for years and know every detail to heart. It is not like maphack makes a huge impact on your D2 life anyway it saves you some extra minutes that instead would have been spent exploring the map. I dont know much about WoW but as you said the game was obviously designed by Blizzard to allow these addons while D2 simply was not. The reason maphack is not allowed is because Blizz wants you to play the game the way it was designed. I have never used it and I do not find D2 anymore difficult at all or any less fun just because I cant see the map totally. While this may be true to anyone who does or has used maphack, it is totally wrong to those of us (hopefully still the majority as far as my knowledge goes) who do NOT use it.
